In Shkodër, the first issue of the newspaper "Republika" (1923–1925) was published, a weekly political, social, and cultural newspaper; it was also partially published in French.
Sali Butka, an activist of the movement for national liberation and the defense of the territorial integrity of the country during the National Renaissance, passed away. He was born in the village of Butkë in Kolonje in 1857.

In Barbullush, Shkodër, Ismail Nikoçi was killed, a fighter for the defense of Albanian territories and a participant in the movement for liberation and national unification in the northern Albanian regions occupied by Montenegro and Serbia.
Muzafer Asqeriu, participant in the communist movement and in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, was killed in the war with the Italian forces.
