In Tirana, Aristotle Papa, a lyrical landscape painter of nature in Albania, died in the second half of the 20th century. He was born in Përmet, in 1921. He partially completed his studies at the Academy of Arts in Zagreb, Croatia (1946, former Yugoslavia). Together with Andrea Manon and Abdulla Cangonji (Emini), he later completed his studies in Bulgaria. His creativity was dedicated to the landscape of the Tirana area. In some of the Papa‘s paintings, the influence of French impressionism is often felt. Papa is considered as the realistic landscape painter of the area of Central Albania. In his paintings, within the simplicity and ordinary landscape that he painted, one can feel a deep love for nature, a processing of detail, elegance in drawing and a typical Albanian light.
