Joseph J. DioGuardi was born in New York (USA), former American congressman of Arbrëresh origin. Joseph DioGuardi graduated from Fordham Preparatory School, Bronx, New York (1958); graduated in BS, Fordham University, Bronx, New York (1962); served in the United States Army Reserves (1963–1969); worked as a certified public accountant with the company “Arthur Andersen & Co.” in New York City (1962–1984), becoming partner in 1972. Joseph DioGuardi was elected as a Republican to the Ninety-Ninth and One Hundredth Congresses (January 3, 1985–January 3, 1989); unsuccessful candidate for re-election in 1988, 1992 and 1996; unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate in 2010.
