Rrok Gera (1901–1969), economist and senior state official, passed away. He was born in Shkodër, where he finished the Saverian College (1918). He finished the Commercial Academy in Linz (Linz, Austria) in 1924. In the years 1925 – 1928 he studied international economic relations at the University of Vienna, receiving the degree of “Doctor of Economic Sciences”. In 1929, he was appointed to the Ministry of National Economy and then worked at the Bank of Albania. Contributed to the development and consolidation of the banking system. In 1938, he was appointed Minister of National Economy. In August 1944, against his will, he was appointed Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Rexhep Mitrovica and then resigned. He then worked as a simple economist in Shkodër, where he died. (In the photo: Rrok Gera)
