In Shkodra, the Arbëresh-Albanian Dictionary by Kolë Kamsi was published. Kolë Kamsi’s dictionary is the work of a lifetime. It was published under the auspices of the scientific sector of Albanology at the “Luigj Gurakuqi” University in Shkodra. Kolë Kamsi (1886–1960) is a well-known name in Albanian philology, especially in Arbëresh studies. The author was a student at the College of St. Adrian in San Demetrio Corone (Italian: San Demetrio Corone) from 1904 to 1907. There, his love for the Arbëresh world was awakened. Throughout his life, Arbëresh literature remained his unwavering focus of work. To make this literature more accessible to Albanian students with its high artistic and patriotic values, he conceived the idea of compiling an Arbëresh-Albanian dictionary. Kolë Kamsi was a national education activist, and his dictionary is a linguistic work and in the service of education. It is addressed to literature teachers and students to help them overcome linguistic difficulties in understanding Arbëresh writers.
