Abdurrahim Buza, Albanian painter and graphic artist of the 20th century, died in Tirana. Abdurrahim Buza completed his higher studies in monumental painting in Florence (1929–1933). Buza, together with the Italian Mario Ridola, the painter Andrea Thanasi (Kushi), the sculptor Odise Paskali and Lasgush Poradeci, were the first teachers at the Drawing School in Tirana. In the creativity of the artist Buza, cycles with historical themes, popular heroes, popular games or the themes of Albanian weddings and legends take place. His painting influenced the modernization of Albanian art of the 20th century. He was awarded the titles “Teacher of the People”, “Merited Painter” and “Painter of the People”.
