In Tirana, they killed dom Jozef Marksen with a gun, while they deliberately pushed him to escape from prison; martyr of the Catholic Church. He was born in Worringen, Germany, in 1906. He studied philosophy in St. Augustine and theology in Mölding (Vienna-Austria). He was ordained a priest in Munich, on June 21, 1936. When he came to Albania, he worked in Kthella (Mirditë). Then, from 1937 he was a parish priest in Perlat of Lezha and from 1943 in Juba of Durrës. He was arrested in Shijak at the beginning of February 1945. He was imprisoned in Tirana, where he was sentenced to two years in prison and locked up in the high security prison for war criminals. He passed away in 1946. (In the photo: Jozef Marksen)
