In Peshkve’s Neck (Pukë), during the fierce fighting against the German Nazis, Met Hasa, a participant in the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, was killed. He was born in the village of Kërçukje of Ndroq (Tirana district), in 1929. In Durrës, where the family was settled, at the age of 12-13, Met Hasa took part in illegal activities, distributing tracts, as a courier, etc. Carrying out a combat duty, he was caught by surprise by the Nazis. On the way to Tirana, he was able to escape from the German guards. He joined the partisan ranks, first in the III Battalion of the Peza Group (1943) and then in the IV Battalion of the XXII Assault Brigade (1944). He fell, catching the muzzle of an enemy machine gun with his body. (In the photo: Met Hasa)
