Loro Boriçi, a footballer (center forward), coach, educator, and “Distinguished Master of Sport,” passed away. He was born in Shkodër in 1922. In his hometown, he completed high school and joined the “Vllaznia” football team for the first time in 1937, becoming the youngest player in the pre-war national championship. He studied law at the University of Rome, where he played with “Lazio” in two Serie A championships (1941–1942, 1942–1943). Boriçi stood out as a player for “Vllaznia” in Shkodër, which won the national championship in 1945. He was the captain of the national football team, which secured first place in the Balkan Games in Tirana in 1946, and captain of the “Partizani” team, which won the Albanian championship in 1949 and 1954. In 1958, he coached “Flamurtari” in Vlorë, “Lokomotiva” in Durrës in 1966, and “Partizani” from 1959 to 1984 (with breaks), winning silver medals in the International Tournament in Hanoi (1963) and the title “Balkan Champion” (1970). He completed a one-year specialization course as a coach in Bulgaria (1960) and taught football at the Higher Institute of Physical Culture “Vojo Kushi” in Tirana. In 1974, he worked as a football expert in the People’s Republic of China. Loro Boriçi played in 24 official matches with the national team and coached the team in 20 matches.
