On April 30, 1948, in Shkodër, before appearing in court, Dom Dede Plani died during torture. He was born in Shkodër. He studied philosophy at the Pontifical Seminary of Shkodra and theology in Innsbruck, Austria, at the Canisianum College of the Jesuits. He was ordained a priest in Primiz, Austria, on August 3, 1919. From March 1920, he was parish priest of villages in the Shkodra district, such as Gimaj of Shala, then Pog, Prekal, Kiri, Shirokë and, from 1947, in Rrenc i Gurit të Zi. He was arrested twice in 1945 in Shiroka and was released a few months later. He was finally arrested in Rrenc i Gurit të Zi, in September-October 1947, and imprisoned in Shkodër.
