Giacomo Vuxani

Lexo ngjarje:

In Arbanasi, southeast of Zara (Croatia), Giacomo Vuxani was born, a politician and Albanian-Italian patriot. Giacomo Vuxani completed his classical high school studies in Zara in 1910. Later, he enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Graz in Austria. At the same time, he became actively involved in the Italian life of his birth city, Zara, and in the activities of patriotic and nationalist associations. Giacomo Vuxani never forgot the language of his ancestors’ homeland, the Albanian language, which his family spoke and preserved with great love and passion, just as they preserved Albanian customs and traditions. In 1910, Giacomo Vuxani promoted and organized the “Italo-Albanian Association” of Borgo Erizzo, which cultivated connections with Albania and collaborated with prominent exponents of the diaspora, such as Zef Skiroi (Giuseppe Scirò) and Rosolino Petrotta. Giacomo Vuxani also closely collaborated with the magazine “Albania,” Brussels – London (1897–1909). He passed away in Trieste (Italy) in 1964. (In the photo: Giacomo Vuxani)
