On the outskirts of Negroc (municipality of Drenas), Rasim Rrahman Kıçina, a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Hero of Kosovo, was killed. He was born in the village of Baincë in Drenas. He attended primary school in his native village, while high school in Drenas. He was a student at the Faculty of Mathematical-Natural Sciences of the University of Pristina. At the beginning of the 90s, he maintained contact with the activists of the People’s Movement of Kosovo. He was included in the ranks of the groups that carried out armed actions against the Serbian police. On February 28, 1998, together with other fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army, he participated in the battle in Likoshan. In the spring of 1998, together with his comrades, he founded the local military barracks in Baica, where the fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army were trained. He was among the founders of the combat unit “Alfa”. He participated in dozens of actions and many battles of the Kosovo Liberation Army, such as in Kijeva, in the gorge of Llapushnik, etc. Rasim Kıçina was part of the close circle of superiors of the General Staff. On May 30, he was ambushed by enemy forces at the exit of Negroc, on the road to Arllat, where he was killed. In 2009, the president of Kosovo awarded him the “Hero of Kosovo” Order.
