Enver Topalli, activist, political prisoner, martyr, was executed by the Serbian forces in Dubrava prison. He was born in the village of Greme-Topojan in Ferizaj. He completed his secondary education in Ferizaj, and continued his studies in economics at the University of Pristina. In 1979 he was arrested for illegal activities. In 1982 he emigrated to Switzerland. In Byl of Fribourg (Switzerland) he founded the club “Shotë Galicia”. In 1983, he returned to Kosovo, was arrested for the second time, then released. Then he was arrested again for the third time in 1984 on the charge of “association for hostile activities”, for which he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. After being given amnesty, he was released from prison in July 1991. He became an active member of the Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (1991) and of the Presidency of the branch of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in Ferizaj . In the May 1992 elections organized by the LDK, he was elected a member of the Parliament of Kosovo. On June 25, 1998, he was arrested by the Serbian police for activities related to the organization of the Kosovo Liberation Army and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
