In an assassination attempt by the anti-fascist guerrillas of the city of Durrës, Idhomene Kosturi, activist of the Albanian National Movement, functionary of the Albanian state in the 20s of the XIX century, was killed. He was born in Korça, in 1878. He started his patriotic activity in his hometown on the eve of the Declaration of Independence. He participated in the Congress of Lushnja (1920) as a representative of Korça. In the government that emerged from that congress, he was appointed director of the Directorate of Posts and Telegraphs. During the political crisis of December 1921, he was appointed prime minister of the technical government and remained in power from December 12-24, 1921. During the Italian occupation of Albania, he stayed away from political events, but in October 1943 he participated in the National Assembly and was charged with the task of the president of this institution set up at the instigation of the German invaders.
