Hakif Zejnullahu

In the village of Pestovë in the municipality of Vushtrri, Hakif Zejnullahu was killed, a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army and a Hero of Kosovo. He was born in the village of Lladofc in Podujeva in 1962. After completing primary school in his hometown and secondary school in Podujeva, he enrolled in the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Pristina. He was active in all political developments since the early 1980s, participating in demonstrations, strikes, and protests. Along with Zahir Pajaziti, in the early 1990s, he was engaged in organizing armed active resistance. For this purpose, his house in Lladofc became one of the first bases of the Kosovo Liberation Army. To supply arms, he traveled several times to Albania. He was killed in an ambush organized by Serbian forces. In 2012, he was decorated by the President of the Republic of Kosovo with the order “Hero of Kosovo.” (In the photograph: Hakif Zejnullahu)
