During the fighting south of Doda Castle (Dibër), Hajdar Dushi, participant of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War, Hero of the People, was killed. He was born in Gjakovë, in 1916. He attended high school in Shkodër. He became a member of the Communist Group of Shkodër in 1937. He worked for the propaganda of communist ideas in Durrës, Kavajë, Shijak and the area of Ishmi. With the creation of the Albanian Communist Party, he was accepted as a member. He was appointed organizational secretary of the Regional Committee of the Albanian Communist Party for Durrës since its creation (1941). He was sent to Berat as a delegate of the Central Committee of the Albanian Communist Party to help the organization of the party. There he was arrested by fascists and imprisoned for 9 months. With an action of guerilla units, he escaped from the Tirana prison, where he had been transferred. He was assigned to the Çermenika detachment and then to the “Perlat Rexhepi” battalion of Shkodra, as deputy commissioner (1943). He was sent by the Albanian Communist Party to work in Kosovo, where he was appointed in charge of agitation and propaganda in the Provincial Committee of Kosovo. He was one of the most active participants in the 1st Conference of the National Liberation Council of Kosovo and the Dukagjin Plain in Bujan, where he provided valuable assistance in the drafting of its Resolution. He worked to raise the people of Kosovo in the war against the foreign invaders and to realize national aspirations. (In the photo: Hajdar Dushi)
