Ibrahim Biçaku was born in Elbasan. He was a political activist, the son of Aqif Pasha Elbasani, and served as Prime Minister during the German occupation. He was also a landowner.
In Manastir, the first issue of the newspaper *“Bashkim’ i Kombit”* (1909–1910) was published, a weekly political, social, cultural, literary, and economic newspaper in Albanian and Turkish.
Ndue Shyti was born in the village of Gojan in the Mirdita region (Pukë district). He was a virtuoso instrumentalist of the çiftelia, bilbil, and sharkia, as well as an innovator and creator of folk formations using traditional instruments. He was honored as an Artist of the People.
Kadri Hazbiu, a participant in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War, commander of partisan formations of the National Liberation Army of Albania, lieutenant general, and a high-ranking official of the state and the Party of Labor of Albania, was executed by firing squad.
